Upcycled projects

laptop bag made from vintage men's sport coat

We found  a cool men's sport coat  in a second-hand store.  It had interesting fabrics and patterns, both inside and out.  I upcycled it into a laptop bag . A small feminine bag to carry a netbook, and use in place of purse.  in the design of bag I incorporated pocket, use the fun lining and even the buttons for added style.

A little Black Dress

This  upcycled  preworn dress went from drab to fab.  I removed the outdated bodice and added new fabric ruffled  jersey .  The change in the bodice fabric gave movement and volume this little bIack dress, and instant update. I also  made a evening bolero style  cover-up out of a plus-sized sweater from a second-hand store. By cutting down to size and adding sequined jet ribbon down front closure.

Messenger Bag

This bag was made from a upcyled women's leather jacket, a pair of jeans, and a vintage record album cover. The album cover and jeans were incorporated for sentimental value   We had the album cover laminated on outside, a used the jeans as lining.  The bag was padded so that it could hold a laptop.  The messenger flap re-used the snaps of the jacket front.  In this case, I took the pieces I knew I could work with--and inspiration struck!
